DL-Tartaric Acid
Tartaric acid is white crystalline organic acid that found in plants and notably in grapes. Its salt, potassium bitartrate, known as cream of tartar, develops naturally in process of winemaking. It is mixed with sodium bicarbonate and is sold as baking Powder used as leavening agent in food preparation. The acid it self is added to foods as an antioxidant and its distinctive sour taste.
